What are the evading mechanics like (ships and infantry)? Ships yes, not quite finished but it's there, I flew the snowspeeder and once I inverted the controls the evading mechanics helped me dodge a few missiles.
Still needs some polishing but it works well for being an alpha build.It also looks like the infantry does not have any evade option but I can also say that the movement was very fluid when it came to firefights. It felt like star was, not COD or Battlefield.
Can you change the orientation of 3rd person (left to right shoulder camera)?
Yes currently done with the Dpad
Customize characters (storm troopers in particular)?
This is definitely a thing, although he couldn't talk about the specifics yet it looked like he was super excited for when it is announced.
With this many players how is voice chat going to work?
With PC of course everyone has their own thing so they're not to worried about that!
With console they're not quite sure how they want to handle this many people, the version we played we did not have any sort of team chat at all.
Prone? Bunny hop?
No prone, but honestly I never felt inclined to lay on the ground.
No bunny hopping but you can shoot while jumping.

Spaceships reaching the edge do what?
What I was told is they want to keep from destroying the experience, so they don't want your vehicle to turn around automatically, but they also want people to stay in the battle, so they are trying to figure out a good middle ground.
This being this early on in the Alpha build they don't have anything set in stone just yet.
Why do snowspeeders have autopilot for the walker tow cable sequence?
Unfortunately, I was shot down before I actually got to try this myself, but when I asked him about this all he said "was have faith."
Although maybe true that you will be doing the minigame is not as easy as it seems.
It's going to take your whole team to keep you from being shot down while doing this and really sounds true from what I have been told and have seen.
