It's awful that they treat you this way. There's some of that in my family as well. Both my mother and half-brother have zero interest in anything about my life. They will talk to me about their work, their complaints, their achievements. But if I do, the response is either non-existent, as you described, or some sort of noncommittal, disinterested, "Hm."
I just... can't fathom that. Even my completely fictitious D&D son's achievements leave me glowing with joy and pride, and that's not even real. How can a person not want to hear absolutely anything/everything their kid would want to share with them? How can that not be a priority? I just don't get it and I'm so sorry you've had to deal with this.
