Just a reminder that Ainge in 5 straight drafts with his 1st round pick hit on: Smart (2014 #6), Rozier (2015 #16), Brown (2016 #3), Tatum (2017 #3), and Rob Williams (2018 #27)

Hoping something from the 2019 draft turns into a legit long term player. Grant is looking the best of the four by a big margin.

2020 gave us Pritchard who has been good and Nesmith who has been nothing.

Usually Danny hits with the highest pick and then the others are way less impressive.

  • 2014: Smart was great. Young at 17 was a total bust.
  • 2015: Terry at 17 was great. RJ Hunter at 28, Mickey at 33, Marcus Thornton at 45 were all BUSTS.
  • 2016: Brown are 3 was an excellent and surprising choice. Yabu at 16 is fucking horrendous, Zizic at 23, Davis at 31, Zagorac at 35, Djax at 45, and Ben Bentil at 51 all sucked. Abdel Nader at 58 was okay, but this sub at the time made out that he was the worst player of all time. That Yabu pick is second to James Young as my least favourite, absolutely horrible, no good selection. We could have had Caris LeVert!!!
  • 2017: Tatum at 3 obviously excellent. Semi at 37 was a good pick. Kadeem Allen was nothing at 53 and Jabari Bird at 56 showed some flashes but obviously was mentally unstable.
  • 2018: Robert Williams at 27 was a certified good selection that looks to be turning out very well indeed. This was the only pick this year.
  • 2019: is the jury still out here? Romeo at 14 to this point has been a bust of a pick especially when you look at who was left on the board. Early stages still and he can turn it around, but it has only been a disappointing selection. Grant at 22 has been solid, although down a little in his second year. Carsen Edwards at 33 has not been great in limited minutes, even though I still like him. Tremont at 51 is nothing really, good dude but won’t be surprised if he’ll be in the Euro League after this season. We also could have kept Thybulle instead of Carsen year.
  • 2020: Nesmith, at 14, has not looked great so far. Pritchard at 26 looks to be a really solid selection. Yam Madur was the 47th pick and is stashed in the Israeli League, so he is an unknown player at the moment. The Celtics also draft Bane and then flipped him for two seconds, and he is looking really nice.
