Just a reminder that people actually like us...

I have a similar story. Except it was the cop that liked me. Unfortunately he had been fighting a lot of demons for the passed couple of years. So much so that he began to have trust issues and didnt really make much friends. Turns out I was one of the very few people that he truly considered a friend. Sadly, I didn't even know this until after he committed suicide.

His name was Vin. He was a degenerate fuckin gambler with a badge that was in serious debt with me. He spent most of his free time drowning in his sorrows at some dirty fuckin whore house, spilling his guts out to the madam that ran the place. To pay off his debts he would run around town doing little favors for me. If someone needed to be roughed up, he'd beat them to a pulp. If I needed information about a doctor of mine, he'd get it to me. If I needed him to take care of my teenage daughter, he'd fuck her then make her breakfast the next morning. With love. You get the point. Other than that the guy was a fucking mess. He wore cheap of the rack suits that were wrinklier than my grandpas balls, greasy hair that hadn't been washed in weeks, he looked like John Heard, and he had a slouched back so low that you'd think he was related to Ms. Finster.

Anyways one day Vin was in that whore house when he got himself into a little situation. It turns out that the FBI had been scouting the place for ages. When they finally raided the place he was in the shower with no where to run or hide. The morning news said that they found him in there with a well respected doctor and a well known wiseguy. Needless to say, it was looking good for him. The next morning Vin woke up, took a swig of whiskey, and dove off of the Donald Goodking Bridge. Later that evening the madam told me about how much he liked me, and how he thought we had a lot in common. I felt bad after I found out. I mean, the guy did a lot of work for me you know? Oh well, I'm sure he's in a better place now.

You were a good egg Vin. A good egg.
