Just saw an article about Marshawn Lynch going down to Oregon to promote a car dealership Best-Mobile, it seems to me he isn't even focused on football, rehab, or contributing to the team this year at all.

How is he selfishly padding his bank account and not having this team's best interests in heart?

I'd say that moonlighting in the middle of the season, taking time away from the team to go out of state to do paid promotions instead of focusing on his day job isn't in the best interests of the team. "Padding" your bank account is exactly the correct terminology to use here, especially when you are already making ten million a year and take time off work to go make even more money doing extra gigs that honestly coulda waited a few weeks until the season was over and his time is his own.

I can only speak for myself, but if I had job duties only 6 months a year (aside from the reasonable expectation of staying in shape in the offseason), I would give a 100% effort. If I was hurt, I'd be in the facility watching tape at least. And there's other things he could be optionally doing, like mentoring the rookies and backups on the team that will fill his role in the near future after he's gone. Sure he doesn't have to do that, but it would be the mark of someone fully committed. Earning $10 million a year to play a game is a privilege that the vast majority of hard working Americans will never have a chance to do. Me, I'd go all out to prove that I deserved it, especially in a year where he's averaging a career low in rushing yards per attempt.

You are correct, I'm not his boss. But I do pay part of his salary through the exorbitant ticket and official merchandise prices. And every single resident of Washington State has had to chip in their tax money to build the stadium that the owners and players use to make a profit off of. Even if you live in Spokane, 6 hours from the stadium, you had to pay in part for CenturyLink field. So no, I'm not his boss, but I do pay part of the players' and owner's generous salaries. So I feel like that at least gives me the right to publicly state my opinion on the matter.

When Marshawn is clearly doing his best to give the impression that mid-season Beastmobiles ($$) and "Stop Freakin'! Call Beacon!" are more important than focusing 100% on the team, I don't think it's unjustified for me to say that I am disappointed with what's going on here, especially considering that I'm stuck paying a small portion of his salary.
