Just started and I think I might quit

Personally, I struggled around gold-plat as I kept getting held back by my teammates when I try to make a play (some would recommend stupid strategies). There was a point I got so annoyed so I muted them all (though comms are important) and I started ranking up faster. My radiant and immortal friends told me that unless you're diamond and above, you do not need comms besides pure mechanics and game sense. If you're really good, you're going to be able to clutch nearly every round (though that's going to be different when there's a smurf on the other team).

Now I'm currently d1 and I understand now that there's so much bad habits platinum and below players have which makes their comms useless (which is exactly the point of my friends). I noticed as well that I'm more mentally relaxed and not as frustrated since I don't hear much toxic dumbasses anymore when i was plat below.

My advice is just mute them all if their comms are unnecessary and is holding you back. I would rather have a mentally-calm teammate that can't do comms but is actually useful compared to a raging gorilla thinking they're TenZ and blaming the team for losing.
