Just started playing today and was told you guys would probably be able to help me get a solid footing.

I joined BNI about a year ago, but was only able to stay briefly because real life came up. Until I joined, I mined in high-sec and watched Netflix. The draw of EVE wasn't there for me after just a few weeks of that, and I was ready to quit. Before I threw in the towel though, I figured I would try something like join BNI, which is the absolute polar opposite of how I play MMOs. Go out to low/null sec space and blow my ships up? Have people teach me about the game from the ground up? I typically over-prepare for most things in life, and with EVE I found myself reading too much and playing too little. Playing around with my skills while docked and mining for ISK was fun for a while, but I was itching to experience what the game really had to offer.

The first night I joined BNI, I lost more than a few Atrons when we scrambled for combat, and it was the most fun I can remember having in a videogame to date. The coordination that was being done by the FCs was impressive, and my adrenaline did not stop flowing every time I would engage my MWD to tackle an enemy ship. I didn't think combat was for me, so I totally understand what you mean when you say you think it's over your head. Trust me, it's not. I know that it may not be for everyone, but I had no idea how much I would love it until I experienced it.

As of three days ago I started playing EVE again after almost a year off, and the first thing I did was apply to BNI. I was barely able to get into the game before because of the limited time I had to play it, but this corp is solely what brought me back to it. I can't wait to lose my ships beside you in the future fellow Newbie!
