I just started training to be a barista with no prior experience whatsoever. I never drink black coffee and always choose milk instead. So yeah, can anyone of you pros and experts gimme some starting tips, or anything that will make it any less frightening for me as it is?

Personally I reckon you're being a cunt, homie. /u/KittyInACup was only ever nice and pleasant in their return, but I don't need to be.

They never said it was the only way, but Jesus would I avoid your cafe based on your absolute bottom end standards for coworkers and knowledge. At my job, we give the people who come in and love coffee batch filter. A little bit. Every day. They don't ask for milk, because it doesn't take a smart person to understand that specialty coffee, coffee made with care and with purpose, is a special drink. It's not hot chocolate. It's a product that's personally bonded me with the customers through introspective converstions about what we taste. They understand it doesn't need to be tampered with. If they did put milk in it, no I would not be offended, but when I serve something special to them I am both expressing passion, service and gratitude. Thats why they give my "gospel" gratitude.

Kitty is simply saying that in order to taste the NATURE of a single origin blend in its most natural form, you need to get used to black coffee. She never said that's how OP should drink it and if you stopped your retarded argument and read the replies to you, you would see that. OP LITERALLY ASKED FOR TIPS ON HOW TO LIKE BLACK COFFEE.

Fuck. Guess I had a long day at work, but your ignorance, aggressive rhetorics and general BM and generalization of the passionate people and baristas in this sub and thread fucking suck dude. Get a new job.
