This basically happened to me too! It is a horrible feeling! The guy I dated pretended not to be religious in the beginning, and he knew I wasn't. Then, gradually, he would get pissy and miserable for things like I wouldn't wear long sleeves in the middle of the summer, and he started telling me I should dress more modest, coming up with new "suggestions" about how I should be every week. It's a disgusting feeling to have someone tell you these things, and it's emotional abuse. So I sympathize with Paola in this regard even though I am not a fan of hers. Partners shouldn't to force their partners to dress differently or change their approach to life.
