Just visiting but feeling the Toronto love.

So much cement, so many boxes to live and work in.

Once I was invited for a roof top bbq in just such and area. Down below on a communal balcony I saw a group of moms chatting while their kids were playing back and forth, back and forth on a cement balcony.

High walls of cement, no plants, no grass, no trees, just cement. Kids were having fun of course, they can make the most of nothing, make the most of imagination.

But just the thought of the moms doing this as a lazy fix, the thought of kids having this as their playground, the lack of discovery of bugs and animals and plants, no way to get dirty, no way to play with sticks and adventure. Just round and round in a grey box.

:(
