Unhinged could also imply something like a mood disorder, so perhaps not the best descriptor.
Here are his conspiracy theories, ignoring the ones above except by saying that justifying his belief that the chinese faked global warning by citing the american public's ignorance isn't a very good justification. It could explain hedging if he didn't had opinions, but not creating a conspiracy theory out of whole cloth, and claiming he was clever for being a birther as it got him coverage is weak as hell. You wouldn't be nearly so lenient with Sanders' distrust of gmo (which actually bugs the shit out of me).
He believes that the sandy hook shooting was faked to initiate gun control laws

Is inspired by a massacre in philippines where unarmed muslims were gunned down in bullets coated in pigs blood
Isis pays for the phones of syrian refugees, who are not vetted, all send to republican states, and are part of a evil plot supported by obama
Claims christians are facing persecution (IRONY!), that the religion is in danger of being shut down, and no one in washington is working for christian interests
Believes that he is being persecuted by the irs for being a christian
Believes Obama and Hillary want to take all the guns (this one is clearly incendiary designed to fire up his audience, he still may believe it.)
Hilary wants to release all the violent prisoners from jail. All of them, just let them walk away
Believes Ferguson, Missouri is the most dangerous city in the US
Believes Mexico deliberately sends criminals to the US

THose are sourced from his speeches and tweets. Some of them recently, and quite possibly are just to enrage his base, but others are old, and obviously he holds them to be true. This is not the work of healthy mind. If his perception of the world is so distorted that he even partially believes these that is suggestive of a personality disorder. You may be right in that he would find the adjustment to the white house easier than trudea found 1600 sussex, but that's irrelevant if he even entertains ideas as absurd as these he cannot be trusted to interpret reality. He is literally delusional. Compared to the other GOP nominees I'm happy trump won, but when I started looking into the things he has said I'm appalled. Every time he opens his mouth, it seems, people within hearing range get dumber. I'm at a loss at how anyone can trust someone so deranged. These are on par with paranoid beliefs common in far right militias and far left groups. Do you thing a leader of a country should be so completely gullible or prone to wishful thinking?
Bernie is the only one worthy of trust in the election. He'll be a one termer, won't get anything done because he's too far left to get much passed, but will be a good placeholder until someone who has the temperment to stay reasonable when peoples lives are at stake. Donald is most certainly not that person. Hilary would probably attack unwisely and make things worse, then blame an aide. My intuition tells me that Bernie would be reticent to use force, but I hope he would accept the need if a situation arose.
