In July of last year (during the last week of Ramadan), a group of 20-30 Somali Muslim men invaded an upscale Minneapolis neighborhood (million dollar homes) in broad daylight at 9am in the morning, driving at high speed onto the sidewalks and lawns, waving black flags, shooting off bottle rockets, shouting "Jihad" and threatening to kidnap and rape female residents because it was "legal" under "Sharia law". This went on on for hours with women and children present.

Neighbors took cell phone footage. Multiple eyewitnesses called 911. It took police hours to arrive. When they finally showed up, they spoke to some of the young men who were still there. No one was shot. No one has ever been arrested. The investigation was buried at both the local and federal levels. The national media didn't pick up the story. The newspaper of record in Minnesota didn't pick up the story. Even the local news that reported the story omitted the parts of the police report that mentioned "Jihad" and "Sharia law". A few months later after a terrorist incident in nearby St. Cloud where a Somali stabbed 10 people in a shopping mall after asking the victims if they were Muslim, Minneapolis Mayor Hodges denounced "Islamophobia" and the newspaper of record in Minnesota blamed the terrorist attack on "anti-Muslim tensions".
