When Bayern thrashed Barcelona 4-0, they had 37%. If Pep indeed told them to play like they did under Heynckes, then the performance they put up clearly showed Pep had cut them off their roots with his possession obsession.
I thinking people are taking the “you are german, play like germans” quote very differently than he intended. He tells them to attack, that’s all. They attacked using possession football. Only Pep Guardiola can complain about not having played his way even though they had 69% possession. Philip Lahm complained about having been taken away from their roots.
