I was thinking about this too. I doubt what Ye has been saying will ever be kosher (no pun intended), but I do think it provides a window into what today is self-evident hatred/trolling/mental illness (or all of the above) but in a couple hundred years' time could be seen as a side in a vibrant and lively debate. I find that morally repugnant but Dan really put that thought in my head that being so far removed is makes claiming things like, say, Genghis Khan "creating the modern world" seen as acceptable. It sucks, but I do think--barring some kind of miracle making "human progress" more than just a hope or dream--we're probably stuck with that pattern of behavior.
