You know what my favorite Mozart track is? Serenade for Winds no. 10 in B Flat. I find the oboe painfully haunting. And, no, I don’t just dig it because it was in the Amadeus film; I love it because it’s exquisite. And when I listen to Kanye’s “Runaway”, regardless of the jejune chord progression, I’m equally struck — not just by a haunting austerity, but the searing elegance of the following lines:

Those are exquisite lines. Fucking diamonds. Better yet ... flawless emeralds.
