However, some California cities have these requirements in their local ordinances. However, parking in an area close to a stop sign could be governed by another factor. Corners near stop signs and signalized intersections in California often (but not always) have no-parking zones designated by red curbs or “no parking” signs that prohibit parking in those zones, according to Internet research. And the vehicle code’s section 21458 states parking at a red curb is illegal
