I'm in your same situation. I got up to Great Karma, and was very happy with the players I was getting matched with at that level. After a bit, I dropped back down to Good Karma, and now have been stuck here ever since.
I don't rage ping or ping spam, but I try to keep the team positive when I do ping. I never afk or desert. I never insta-lock, I don't queue dodge. I know how IGC works. I don't feed. I play a lot of support (usually because of insta lockers) and build actual support items.
It's beginning to feel like a little to much power is given to other players in regard to determining how your future match making will go.
Yesterday after a game with less than ideal teammates, I added one of them to explain why I was "Caution" pinging the enemy at times. One of the points went something like this:
Me as Catherine, him as Glaive, see enemy SAW and Krul in jungle. I pinged avoid, he ran in face first and eventually died
Me: I pinged caution to try and tell you not to engage. They had a big cash and level advantage and my ult was on CD.
Him: We would have been fine if you didn't suck. Glaive has high hp.
Me: I did everything I could? I used a fountain on you and threw out as many stuns as CD would let me.
Him: I had BP, we would have won if I had better support. You should have stunned more.
Me: .... irl facepalm, delete from friend list
This fight ended with him dying and then me running back up to the turrets amidst his ? ping spam (not sure if he wanted me to take on full health Krul and SAW 2v1 as support Cath or if he was mad I didn't somehow save him from his own idiocy).
My point is that I've had lots of team mates like this in Good Karma who don't realize how little they understand about tactical gameplay and then somehow blame their team for their own shortcomings. It's getting really frustrating because I know I am not doing anything deserving of bad karma, yet cannot get out of this Karma teammate hellhole.
tl;dr Karma has definitely become skill-based rather than respect-based. Even more unfortunate is how this causes you to get stuck in lower karma tiers despite always trying hard and being respectful. Sorry this turned into such a rant.
