I have a slightly different take than you. I think the YouTube One Piece Community "ruined" fan perception of Commanders and haki. These people go on streams and spew nothing but headcanon. When the facts are written on the page, and it doesn't suit their liking, they refute it. They basically amassed following that listens to idiots. You know people are morons when they go on a stream and say Enel is on the level of Katakuri or stronger. And you know what's worse? When you find out that said character is one of, if not, their favorite character in the series. I won't mention names but you all know who they are. People need to READ the manga closely and not interpret things when facts are there black on white, clear as crystal.
