If you guys think Amy Chua and Jed Rubenfeld's daughter somehow wasn't going to get a SCOTUS clerkship after she did as well as she did at YLS, I want some of whatever you're smoking.

Is she smarter than the other applicants? I don't know. Probably not. Is she necessarily reaping the benefits of her mom defending Kavanaugh? Maybe. I think it's more likely that Amy Chua defended Kavanaugh because she was trying to maximize the clout she gets from her preexisting relationship with him, and because she had already sent so many female students his way and was on record saying all the stuff about how he liked beautiful model-looking clerks.

Most likely, she's reaping the benefits of her and her parents' connections, and those connections weren't hurt by Amy Chua's defense of Kavanaugh. I'm not going to say that there's nothing wrong with that, but it's no different from how every other SCOTUS clerk I've ever heard about has been hired.
