I have dealt with a little girl at eight, during dinner, make a comment with me and our family of being molested by someone else in the family. It is a day I will never forget. The detail she gave. The god damn vivid details! The time spent with lawyers, police, CPS and others to ensure my daughter never had to go back to that place and endure that treatment. Only to have others, on the other side, dispute, smoke screen and say it never happened to her, to save their own skin and family. You dont get it. Only to have a judge say, "Welp shes young and thats a good thing. I am dismissing this protective order." Then having to be threatened with jail if I didn't comply with the other party's parental rights being restored. You dont get it, until it is your little girl you are fighting a system to protect. A system of injustice. A system lacking protection. A system that doesn't care because they are too overburdened to give a shit. Protective orders dont make money. I feel terrible for women and little girls all over. As men, we are better than this. We should be there for them.
