I keep hearing people whine about Firebolt grenades. Let me put it into the proper perspective for you.

Bladedancers have a higher K/D and basically the same compared to sunsingers in 3v3. Sunsingers are bad in 6v6.

Before anyone brings up the 'PvE players skewing stats' nonsense, go to

https://guardian.gg/en/subclass/sunsinger

You can see the K/D by people that are running specific perks. Funny how we have all this lovely, specific data to hand, and instead people bring the salt authoritative-sounding throwaway comments at it instead.

You'll note sunsingers running viking funeral don't do nearly as well compared to blade dance + QD + skips.

They have similar win%s but die a lot more. Nearly 20% more.

Sunsingers running VF have a 58% win in trials, 1.04 K/D. Bladedancers running blink have a 1.2 K/D and a 58% winrate.

But wait, firebolts are OP aren't they!? so sunsingers are the best aren't they?

BDs running TLW have a 63% winrate and a K/D of 1.3. And yes, this is IMPORTANT WHEN BALANCING

Sunsingers have an amazing grenade, and a great melee ability. That's pretty much it. No evade, nothing that helps them use guns.

Bladedancers have blink and QD. They can snipe then bodyshot faster and they can blink shotgun which is still extremely effective.

Both of these count in balance considerations. It's not just about abilities, it's about how abilities let you use guns more effectively than other classes.

Just whining about how OP a grenade is without bringing any data or context to neutral/super game at large is the same as all the old threads we used to have about which class/weapon of the month was awful and needed no skill or whatever. We now have the data to back up or debunk these comments instead of going on feelings.
