Keeping the Community Positive

I have a Jewish friend who I play MMOs with. He puts on a stereotypical Jewish accent and talks about his Shekels whenever in-game money is brought up.

Is that too offensive of a racist joke?

I watched a livestream the other day where the streamer was a youngish black man (I would say 25-26 at most). He kept making jokes about how he isn't black because he doesn't like chicken.

Is that too far?

Sure, it would be different if it were a white kid who was fifteen making the those jokes. But these are grown men making jokes about their ethnicity.

The point /u/Cabbles is making is that we do not know the full context of this encounter.

In my opinion, my Jewish friend talking about his Shekels is fine because whatever, if he wants to make fun of himself so be it. However, if some random guy came into our TeamSpeak server and started telling my friend to shut the fuck up and go play with his shekels or something ignorant like that, just trying to be offensive, I would be pissed off.

We don't know which category the racism in the OP falls under because the OP did not mention exactly what was said.
