Keeping It "REAL"

Using your argument, does Demarcus not fit the description as a top tier player then? He whines and needs the ball to be efficient.

No one says he's an all time great, but he is a top tier player. Arguably top 5-7 in his position with Lebron Kawhi KD and insert whoever you want here.

I agree he sucks at hitting buzzer beaters and closing out games, but in terms of clutch and how you define it, he does step it up down the stretch. In his performance in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter or overtime and the game within three points. Using this metric (Basketball Reference's Play Index), George was 11th in the NBA this season in effective field goal percentage at 49.4%. Of course number one in that is Lebron at 66.7% but the other notable players in that list? Isaiah Thomas 3rd with 57.3%, Curry 5th at 53.4%, Lowry 6th at 53.4%.

But like I said, you make some good points, he's not all NBA level, but IMO in the top 20. I don't think I could name 19 other guys who'd I'd have on my team over him.
