Ken Cuccinelli: Statue of Liberty Poem Was About ‘People Coming From Europe’

There's a lot of reasons this is a stupid take but the main one, for me, is that the message still applies to everyone even IF this were true. It's like talking about what the founding fathers intended when putting "all men are created equal" in the constitution when they owned slaves. Like, "all men are created equal" is a good worldview to have regardless of who's writing it down or why. They may not have MEANT to include women or black people in the "all men" part but it's the correct reading regardless. All people ARE created equal and SHOULD have equal protection under the Constitution and law in general even IF the men writing it meant just the rich, white, landowning men.
