Is Keto ok longterm?

This is a great question and one I am constantly having to answer, as a long-term keto fan. (People love to challenge keto.) If the data is out there I haven’t found it. My answer for myself is that I feel better even when I’m just eating low carb/keto-ish. I don’t focus on eating a lot of cheese and hwc as I did early on, and I’m not obsessed with staying in ketosis. So I’m not always shedding weight like I did when I was sticking strictly to keto macros. But I’m not gaining, either. I’m not out of control. And painful gut issues are a shadow of what they were, at worst. I don’t need much carbs and avoid sugar like poison. Nothing tells me this could be a bad approach to continue for the rest of my life.
