KiA meltdown over article suggesting all storm troopers are black.

google the scourging of the shire. That seems to be the sort of thing they want to prevent. That doesn't seem so unreasoinable especially given the book plot. I agree the show plot was terrible and doesn't complicate noble jon the visionary fighting reactionary bigots

In the books 1. Jon Snow actively is continually seduced to break his vows to the NW vis a vie giving aid to stannis and against the boltons. This ends where he decides to lead a wildling army against winterfell to free what he thinks is his sister. This is when he is assassinated. 2. His sense of self righteous action and percieved demands of leadership leads him to push away from his comrades, not explain himself and brook no dissent (its notable he never actually engages the dissenters personally and pitches the pragmatic option. His argument is always couched in terms of universal humanity) 3. the book specific plots are murky at the end of DWD (ends w/ Jon's death) but there are many details that hint the wildling leaders are playing Jon for their own political ends and now there is a major wildling army both south of the wall and a revolutionary force that doesn't like the northern customs or the king (stannis)'s religion which is hostile to theirs.

tl;dr

the book Jon plot can be read politically as a warning about dangers immigration places on society given an unassimilating group

Thus the problem with an influx of refugees/migrants/illegals here arguably is one that can be seen as strongly anti idealist bleeding heart open borders. the refugee influx creates a tremendous political strain and without the leaders managing both refugee communities and domestic ones order falls apart. Thus mass imigration leads to the threat of anarchy and if mance/val/tormond are using Jon for their own ends you have an "anti kneeler" social problem on your hand created by immigration.
