I have a VAC ban on COD: Modern Warfare 2 because I was using a stat-saving (and albeit manipulating) program specifically to prevent being forced to max prestige with all weapon unlocks in modded lobbies because there is almost no other way to play the game normally without modders fucking your account up. You can try to explain that to Steam but they don't give a shit, and they will never be able to fully eradicate the "hackers" from the servers. So yes, as a "normal people", I do take VAC bans with a grain of salt depending on the games they were attributed to. I am in no way affiliated with the person you replied to, it just annoyed me that he's being downvoted and you're being upvoted even though there's very legitimate reasons for bans in some games that are not well moderated anymore because the developer/publishers abandoned their games.
