Do You Want Kids?

I used to be really sure that I wanted kids and now that I've seen more of life and experienced shitty parenting, I think I'm losing interest in the idea.

Also, if you realize how much of life involves pain and unmet needs, it seems absolutely inhumane to have a kid and put them through any of that.

Reading any of the subreddits where men share their negative experiences with women and how they have no companionship at later stages of life is also heartbreaking. You think about having a son and life taking him to the deepest pit and simply offering him a bunch of platitudes. I don't know.

The older I get, the more it seems like a selfish choice. I'm open to changing my mind, but at 34, I don't want to be an old dad either. Potentially leaving a kid to fend for themselves.
