Kids should be bored in class sometimes.

If the majority of teachers here would be real professionals in the sense of having mastery over Their craft, this comment would be upvoted. Looking at the other, similar and downvoted comments, it's quite pathetic how the replies try to (impotently) justify incompetency with flawed arguments instead of admitting that the OP is plainly wrong and has (at least in regards to the opinion of the topic) a very bad approach to education.

Schools are here to teach. Boredom reverts learning succes (let's not confuse boredom as an essential part of brain development with, as is argued, a teaching tool, which is not a good tool). If You want to teach attention increase and time management, there are fun ways of doing that. The possibilities are literally endless. Instead, these fools choose to just give up and feel justified by their lack of effort.

Sure, there are severe issues in modern education, but they are not the particular subject of this thread. It's devastating to see how quick teachers (here) are to blame students and parents and washing all responsibility from themselves. It's Your job to make an effective learning experience. If You can't or (more likely) don't want to do it, You just suck at Your calling.
