Kids under the age of 12 shouldn't have access to the internet

I’m a former middle school teacher and my kids won’t be allowed on social media period and no YouTube.

I’ve seen entirely too much damage caused by social pressure and curiosity. A kid once came to me distraught because he watched a video of someone being decapitated and he wanted advice on how to make the horrible feeling go away. I’ve also seen kids have to be admitted after anonymous bullies online told them to kill themselves for being ugly. Plus a girl took Snapchats of herself pooping and didn’t understand why the entire school was talking about her.

Under the age of 12 they really can’t understand the consequences of their actions and they are filled with curiosity. My kids are getting a Nintendo switch and a plain kindle with a library card, they’ll survive just like I did.
