I killed a bear... what do i do now?

Word of advice, it's a good idea to make your food freezer and animal corpse freezer the one-in-the-same. If you're going to do cannibalism then I guess you could add human corpses.

Place your "kitchen" facilities in a room just outside the freezer so that your cooks don't need to go far to get their job done. Some people apparently like to separate out their stoves from their butchering tables into separate rooms, but I don't think it matters that much if you have a colonist act as a dedicated cleaner. Cleanliness of the area around your stoves affects the chance that a given meal will give you food poisoning. The cleanliness of the area where you store your food doesn't seem to matter.

In my personal experience, I'd also probably give a separate route into your freezer besides the kitchen because everybody wants to eat and you don't want your whole colony tracking dirt through your kitchen to get at the meals. So maybe create a separate dining area that serves as different way into your freezer.

Your kitchen will be badly trafficked enough by your cooks without the rest of the colony trying to squeeze through the doors.
