Though, I will say being homeless in Cali would be a lot more comfortable than somewhere cold. Back during my homeless days I would climb buildings and sleep on the roof and use beach showers to get clean.

Search Craigslist for people subletting their apartment or check out couchsurfing.com and make an account. I met a lot of cool people that way. You could also look into buying a tent and sleeping bag with whatever money you have and find a campsite using freecampsites.net.

As far as food goes get a hold of job and family services and get set up with SNAP (food stamps). Given your situation they will expedite your case and you’ll at least have food covered. Hell they might even get you on Medicaid so you could look into some therapy options.
