[King] Jaylen Brown, in a speech before the game, thanks Martin Luther King Jr. for his fight, said the fight will continue: "Systemic racism is real. It plagues the city of Boston as well as the rest of our society."

Hi, Boston fan here. Glad JB is speaking up. We know how Boston is perceived and are lucky to have had many athletes come through and stand up for what is right. Yes, it does get a bit tiring hearing how terrible it is here, because it makes those of us that try and promote change feel like it’s never going to be recognized that there is improvement, but I’ll never tell JB or anyone that shares his view he’s wrong.

For everybody unfamiliar with Boston, this is the pretty much the exact tone and shit they write every time. They almost never actually come out and say, "Yes. Our city is racist."

We know how Boston is perceived

Instead you get shit like this. it's just "perception" despite Black athletes, Black columnists and regular Black people living in Boston who all say otherwise.

Yes, it does get a bit tiring hearing how terrible it is here,

Wow. "We're the victims! Stop calling us racist." People keep saying Boston is racist because Boston never can admit it.

but I’ll never tell JB or anyone that shares his view he’s wrong.

Wow. That's fucking generous. "I'm not going to tell a Black guy living in Boston that his views on race are wrong."

that try and promote change

Try this for change. "Yes. Boston is racist." Full stop. Not "it used to be worse but is better now" or "other cities are more racist." Just come out and admit that Boston has a significant problem with race. Literally the whole world knows it.

Anyways, if you're not from Boston, look for further Boston comments like these. The denialism and defensiveness always turns up.
