The King's Affection [Episodes 7 & 8]

Yes...I'm a historian and I'm facepalm in that scene, how they forced the diplomat to look bad. This was completely unnecessary... just read a history book to know that envoys created diplomatic crises/were seen as bad for much simpler and much more truthful reasons.

The scene of him refusing the courtesans was much more realistic, as, for example, emissaries created confusion by refusing local food, accused of spying or having love affairs with royal cuncubins (or stealing a princess, as in the Iliad). But of course, kdramas has a great influence from korean nationalism, so an emissary who caused a stir by, for example, seeing a servant beaten to death in a public square would not do well to Joseon's memory.
