Kingyozaka Meiro - Megathread

I am guessing that the translation might be a bit too literal. As far as I know Japanese relies a lot on context. So her talking about the copycat topic would change the context for that part.

I get what you mean but...the translator, from Nijicord which probably has bigger proportion of people knowing Jap than other communities and many known subbers, did say it is accurate, while noting the contradiction.

There is no way they aren't going through everything Roa posts right now to make sure it is okay when such a shitstrom is going on. And I highly doubt they would let her release those screenshots if it would make her look like she is lying to Meiro.

that is all we have so *shrug*

Meiro asking for advice and @ everyone from that screenshot was back in 07/12

Roa messaging her wasn't until August, and I do have a suspicion about the trigger...

at first at least Roa didn't outright demand that, which is also why I think Meiro was able to ask for advice regarding her accent after being warned about it naturally and apparently receive a horrible one from Maimoto lol=ignore it.of course based on that sole screenshot.

what makes me even more sure is how Meiro was included in the Book Reading at one point, which shouldn't happen if she was in such a bad situation with the management since the beginning and all the time

either that or asking her to change her accent was the management answer to Roa complain

and do note that Roa is concerned about her whole character and not only the accent part,I did post an alternative translation here that highlights that and the date of the first Dm further enforce it in my eyes, since Meiro streamed a game that is quite special to Roa journey, I can see her messaging her as only a panic move...

this goes in line with Roa denying asking to change how she talk, what happened after that to lead to Meiro protesting and asking to graduate?
I dunno, maybe either Management or Roa or Meiro herself escalated things

and I think there was where she was asked directly to deal with the similarities, especially the accent and at this point Roa was more clear about it? maybe since she couldn't meet her irl so she didn't hold back..

why did Meiro came back? I dunno

did she really get the permission to talk? I dunno, but people were disliking a lot because they thought she suggested she was being bullied by other Livers so Ichikara is really telling the truth here and I know Ichikara is not stupid enough to allow her saying this on stream, which makes me in turn really doubt her claim to having permission.

so all in alll the plausible explanation to me is the opinion and approach of management shifting as the problem kept escalating, so it went from Roa expressing concern about her RP and individuality and Management trying to find compromise to whatever ended up with her asking for an official statement and then graduation only to come back.the fact is at some point she was asked to change it directly and that was addressed by the statement, and Roa was probably talking about the initial warning back in July.

but yeah a lot of black spaces from both sides
