Kirk Cousins leads the league in passer rating with 114.8. Good for 8th all time for a single season, if he can continue on this pace.

The problem with Cousins is that he goes stretches of games where he looks absolutely abysmal. In his defense, it's hard to tell if it is playcalling or his decision-making, but he goes through stretches of looking timid and risk-averse. So he'll throw tons of screens and dump offs that gain nothing, and then racks up yards and TDs late in games as the defense guards against deep throws. So his stats look better than what he actually looked like when the game was competitive.

But then he has stretches where he opens it up, throws downfield, and looks great. The comeback from down 20-0 was a microcosm of Cousins over a season: completely ineffective, then very good, and his stats look more impressive than he actually was.
