Wipes breaking up depends on the brand. Cheaper wipes are causing issues while better made ones are fine. Fine enough that certain brands are endorsed by local water municipalities as pointed out in the article. Some of the links you've provided are from over five years ago and no longer apply. People in this thread have also neglected to mention the multiple TYPES of wipes there are - flushable, non-flushable, baby wipes, makeup removing wipes and so on. Only the flushable should, obviously, be flushed but far too many people don't pay attention - or care - to dispose of wipes properly.

Personally, I'm a bidet person myself but if we're going to make an argument let's stick to facts. The meeting blowing things out of proportion isn't a new idea .. so let's take time and look into the facts before jumping all over people (like the OP).
