I hear people say “Sony won’t be at E3” like it means that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING will be revealed from them in concomitance with the event. Do you really think that the absolute dominating force of this generation will be COMPLETELY silent during the single biggest gaming convention on the entire planet? I mean, same way you can’t be sure about what you think, so can’t I: I may very well be wrong, but I find it incredibly improbable that the company that recently announced a new presentation format analogous to Nintendo’s treehouse won’t have at least some kind of reveal during that timeframe. Especially since, if we have to find another non-streaming opportunity for announcements, we would have to wait until the end of the year for the (still not confirmed) PlayStation xperience, right? Remember, this is the company that recently announced, in a period without any conferences or important dates, internal components and specs for the next gen console that they haven’t even officially confirmed yet, just because they wanted to flex on their rivals and anticipate inevitable leaks once they send the devkit to developers. My take on this is that they will have one of those streams they recently introduced, either just before one of the major conferences at E3 (maybe right before E3 starts), or one/two days later (something that sounds like “excited for what the other companies just presented? Hold my beer”). Of course, even in the eventuality that I’m right, nothing points to any DS related announcement, but given the time elapsed from the last piece of information we have on the game, given Kojima’s “I’d like to show something in, like, a month”, and given the fact that Sony is pushing as much as they can on their last big exclusives (DS, tLoU Part 2 and GoT) before next gen comes, I’d say we have good chances of hearing important news on at least one of the big titles.
