Labour challenges Jewish groups' version of events after 'disappointing' meeting

As one source present at the meeting put it: “They think it’s all about process, that process is all that matters. Process is what they offer and it’s the excuse they give why they can’t do anything”.

Well this sounds like a reasonable man who I would just want to let dictate terms to me. Fucking hell it's a good thing the party is sticking by process.

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together can work out that process is what will actually tackle anti-semitism. All the other stuff is just feel good/feel bad crap about Corbyn.

“So why are you not saying that loud and clear, with the passion you have shown over the Windrush scandal?”, Mr Goldstein responded.

People being fucking deported by the government vs private indivduals saying nasty things?

I don't think it takes much to work out why the leader of the Labour party might spend more time and feel more personalyl responsible about a government actively deporting people than private indivduals being awful pieces of shit. I cannot believe Mr. Goldstein can honestly believe the issues are comparable in this way where he can say the stance on the windrush scandal being different indicates anything negative about Corbyn's opinion on Jewish people and anti-semitism.

You have”, Mr Corbyn was told directly, “done nothing to deal with Muslim antisemitism.”

I mean come on guys. Can we just please imagine Corbyn wasn't leader and it was someone telling Ed Milliband, or perhaps Sadiq Khan, "you're not dealing with Muslim antisemitism". We would all agree it is a bad thing, and maybe there was something more they could do, but would think it was a bit rich to put so much responsbility for that on one Labour MP.

When Mr Arkush raised the issue of appointing an independent ombudsman to deal with allegations, the Labour leader said he did not have the authority to take such action.

As a source put it: “Every time you ask him to do something he finds an excuse and relies on process.”

It's either a lie, in which case expose it. Or it's not and it's the truth and having a paddy doesn't change that.

You can't have this weird limbo of process being needed in general in the party, including for dealing with racism, but Corbyn should ignore sometimes. Process exists partly to stop the leader abusing his power. If Corbyn is an anti-semite, and he there was no strong process in the party, then jewish people would be fucked. As it is even the people who think he's an anti-semite are saying "this is the best he can manage in the Labour party, he'd be worse if he could".

If he can do it then either he's a) made a mistake b) lying. Therefore it makes infintitely more sense to foucs on whether it's true or not, rather than attacking the idea that process exists and is necessary.

This is the crux of it. Hiding behind procedural excuses gives the game away. If Mr Corbyn was serious about tackling antisemites he would tell Mr Williamson that if he goes ahead with the meeting with Ms Walker then Mr Corbyn will denounce him for it.

Fucking finally. First point that I agree with and is a realistic point to raise. Corbyn can't kick anyone out himself, he can put pressure on people to toe the party line. He can't quite say "you musn't do it or you'll get kicked" but he can put pressure on people. This was the only point worth discussing really and they barely go into it. Just declare he should do it. They also then conclude the only reason not to is hiding behind process, implying still that he is behaving anti-semitically. But hey ho, it's progress, at least the point itself is a good one.

I can't believe you thought this would covince people against Corbyn on this. I was feeling pretty sceptical but this reassured me that much of the criticsm is unwarranted now I've seen some direct quotes and not just a summary.
