Face yoga as this strengthens the muscles in your face and neck which smooths the skin over the muscles and gives you a natural face lift, making you look younger. It really works! Then you need to take care of your skin, get a really skin care regime going and use products that suit your skin type. I use a good quality foaming face wash, a serum that helps improve my skin, plus a Moisturiser and eye cream. I also exfoliate which helps remove dead skin cells and brightens your skin. Make up, I use a bb cream as I don't need much coverage, I also use clarins instant concealer around my eyes, which I pat on gently. Sometimes I use a primer on face before applying bb cream, but not always. Then I use a little bare minerals perfecting veil over the top, which takes away shine. For my eyes I use Naked basics pallet, which is a pallet of Matt shades (matt is better as you get older as it doesn't highlight lines around the eyes). Then I use mascara. I also use a NARS contour pallet. You can go into stores and ask for advice about skin care and make up, I'm a little surprised your friends won't help out, but I hope this helps.
