LAOP's coworker called cops, thinking that LAOP'S husband beats her. Can LAOP sue for filing a false report?

Well, to be fair, some things are just scarier than car crashes when you have a family relying on you.

I categorize a false rape accusation in the same category as something like sudden onset dementia. If I die in a car accident, my wife and family get enough money from life insurance to be alright. Their lives won’t be destroyed, and that makes me happy. If I get accused of something that destroys career/employability via court of opinion justice, my family goes down with me. My family could be plunged into poverty, and I’d be helpless to do anything about it. And this doesn’t event factor the chance of legal repurcussions.

Folks around here like to pretend that it’s no big deal if it happens, but when you have a family relying on you, the idea that someone could take away their livelihood on a whim is horrifying. There’s no insurance for that, and no backup plan. Every day you are putting your family’s well being into other people’s hands.

Honestly, I’d rather die in a car wreck than ever have that happen to me. At least that way my wife’s life wouldn’t be destroyed with mine.
