Larry Page is quietly amassing a ‘flying car’ empire - Google co-founder revealed to be owner of Opener, a Canadian startup that just came out of stealth

You read my mind!

If you trust the people of your city to navigate in 3 dimensions, where a simple fender-bender sends flaming debris and screaming bodies onto your head and rooftop... then let me know what city you live in!

'cause the people in my city... not so smart!

Nor do I trust current computing power, and current AI algorithms to handle and drive a sky full of flying cars! (Current AI can't even handle 2 dimensional driving yet.)

But ok... fine... you say "Americans" are some how the problem for this technology not coming to pass... then other countries will do it on a large and vast scale, right?

Then they'll show those foolish Americans the errors of their ways, and how people could actually be trusted to zip around each morning, late for work, in 3 dimensions, without any debris raining down!

IN SHORT:

I'm personally fine with the idea of remaining temporarily "backwards" for a while longer, while ANOTHER country handles the experiment of filling their sky with tens of thousands of flying, commuting cars!

That's one experiment I'm perfectly content to pass off to another nation!
