It’s because the NHL refuses to publicly announce when they or their referees are objectively wrong. They just prefer to ignore that it happened. They think it’ll undermine their credibility or something. But funnily enough, them not admitting their wrongdoings makes me respect their credibility even less.

In real life, I don’t care how great you are in the other aspects of your life, but I will simply not respect you if you can’t admit when you’re wrong.

If they just came out and said “we made a mistake with X call,” or “Y play shouldn’t of been allowed,” I’d respect them 10x more. Because, mistakes happen. It’s just the way she goes
