To be fair though, you can't be good at understanding things if you say the story originally skipped past RotS when it was more than 15 years after the original movie and compare that to the ST which didn't is ordering things in a very different chronology. Either that or your determination to be right is making you overlook the basics that less emotional people would have no trouble keeping in mind.

If you can't see how the ST lacking enough characterization to fit into the PT is an obstacle to understanding Luke, and if you presume it was exatly like Anakin and Obiwan from the PT then I can't help you. I don't want speculation and wishful thinking, I want concrete facts like what we OT fans waited 20 years for.
