That makes some sense but they have to understand it won't work and will make their cause and their efforts get distorted. People are in general selfish and no one is going to have a revelation about BLM or police brutality while already being stuck in the normal traffic nightmare then being gridlocked by a protest. They have alienated every single person locked up in traffic, not a single person stuck their is going to do or think anything helpful about the BLM movement or police brutity. The BLM protestors need to figure something else out. Maybe renting a billboard in times square and playing nonstop police brutality videos, lots of exposere there. Blocking traffic is dumb and dangerous and will never achieve what they want. I understand that I am now talking about BLM and wasn't 30 minutes ago so maybe someone feels like they have accomished their goals but they have not. My views on the situation as a whole have not changed but now I am annoyed by the protestors and am less likely defend their actions.
