The Last of Us Part II [Official Discussion Thread]

Just finished the game. I feel depressed.

I didn't hate Abby as much as other people because I really did try to empathize with her point of view.

Honestly the gameplay is just the same old same old. By the time I got halfway through Abby's half, I found myself avoiding combat encounters and I stopped exploring because it felt like a slog. I just wanted to see how everything would wrap up.

The basement hospital monster was cool. Wish you didn't fight it though. It would have been neat to just have a long escape type encounter.

I guess after that ending we are supposed to assume Ellie heads back to Jackson to patch things up with Dina?

I dunno. I felt like I would have enjoyed the game a lot more if Abby's section was maybe first or if it was arranged a bit differently. Or for Ellie to actually get her revenge. I dunno. I'm a big conflicted on that.

All in all it was solid. I think the dynamic between Joel and Ellie ( due to the VA's performance) was severely lacking from this game. I get that Neil wanted the story to go in this direction, but if Joel had to die, I'd have rather it been near the end of the game, having had the ability to play through that Joel/Ellie dynamic.
