So last year, we were required to write an informative essay, based on facts, on a subject we feel most passionate about. This was the result of the kid that sat next to me.

And your evidence is...? Lots of religions advocate for peace, individual rights, and civil freedom. Of course, it's completely possible to nitpick and find the sections that agree with your worldview, but I can do that with any article and so can you. You are almost as bad as the kid who wrote this article, who said that gay marriage is bad. Good people don't tell others what's good for them. They can inform them with facts and logic (the kid in this article fails at that), but you have just gone and said that any person who practices a religion has a mental disease. Clearly you do not care for a debate of facts and reasoning, so congrats. I'm not sure who's the worst person here: the kid who wrote the paper for his terrible writing and lack of facts, you for the exact same thing, and the person who posted the essay for not giving someone's worldview a chance before trashing it into oblivion. This kid may have very well had a point, like you, but neither of you were willing to be civil or use logical reasoning.
