HILLARY'S "INTERNET DECENCY" CRACKDOWN
Hillary Clinton is making a speech today in Nevada calling out internet Trump supporters as White Nationalists and "alt(ernative) right" Extremists who are anti-feminist and anti-multiculturalism.
This is a milestone in the history of the internet. You might recall during a debate with Bernie Sanders she went after his internet supporters called "Bernie Bros", demanding Sanders denounce his supporters' sexists comments, which he did.
Trump won't be so quick to denounce the so-called "alt-right" comments of the more than 200,000 subscribers to reddit who support him and exercise their free speech rights to savage Hillary for her lies and crimes, and even her looks and her health. Some of those comments are indeed crude and reprehensible and, as she will complain, are sometimes racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic and, generally off the PC chart by a mile. Offensive. Hurtful. Dangerous, maybe.
I don't think a major party nominee for president, except maybe Tricky Dick Nixon, has ever condemned the exercise of public free expression in support of an opponent, whether as it was in those days in the form of letters to the editor, or carrying signs during a street demonstration. This is unprecedented.
Is this what any of us want? Somebody like Hillary Clinton, who has taken millions from telecommunication companies that want to destroy what's left of the internet, to rally us to condemn free expression on the internet because it hurts her chances for president? We know that PACs supporting Clinton pay people to troll her detractors (CTR) on the internet and pay to disrupt Trump rallies. She wants her detractors muzzled under the pretext of "hate speech" while she pays people to shout them and their candidate down.
If you don't watch the speech you'll likely see what the MSM wants us to see: her description of a very bad segment of society that needs to be condemned and controlled for speaking their minds. For disagreeing with her.
You might find yourself agreeing that people are mean and say nasty and horrible things on the internet. But are you "with her" on this?
Or can we have an election without shutting down free expression on the only platform left that isn't completely controlled and censored?
What do you think?
