Fully agree in streamlining the system. Ironically, streamlining the system and making it easier to immigrate here will also make it easier to identify immigrants. In doing so we can eliminate or severely reduce the criminality and problems associated with illegal immigration (the stealing of SSNs, the rampant use of ERs for small issues, the taxes that are not being paid, etc.). Sunshine is the best disinfectant, as they say.

If I were allowed to revamp the system I would make it somewhat easier to immigrate, eliminate jure soli citizenship, and mete harsher punishments for those who still break the law once it's easier to immigrate. But that's just me.
