"Lawful gun owners commit less than a fifth of all gun crimes" according to new UPitt analysis

in illegal possession of a weapon that belonged to someone else.

ah so if we did not allow this someone else to have his gun stolen then the gun would not have been used in a crime.

I understand this is victum blamming. the gun owner had his gun taken without his permission then the gun was used in a crime.

If we made it such that gun owners had to keep their guns in a locked safe bolted to the structure of the house a lot less guns would be stolen.

or if we fined every legal gun owner if their gun was used in a crime then they would find some better way to protect their gun and not allow it to be stolen.

like we tell people if you do not ant to be robbed do not walk in a dark alley in the middle of the night. If we do not want guns to be used by criminal then gun owners need to lock their doors or keep their gun on their person at all times!

that's the better solution. every legal gun owner should be required by law to keep their gun secured to their person! this would prevent their guns from being stolen and used illegally. (I am assuming most guns are stolen from a persons house)

or lets get gun insurance. like cars if someone steals your car and hurts someone your car insurance covers the damage. so gun insurance. if someone steals you gun and hurts someone the gun insurance covers the damage. this would make sure people are more responsible with their guns! and if people do not have gun insurance when their gun is stolen then they themselves must pay out to cover the damage.

tl:dr; gun owners should be forced to keep their guns on their person at all times and no business should be allowed to removed a persons gun from them. this will prevent guns from being stolen and will save lives!
